Bird Creek Motel has been family-owned since 1996. Located along the scenic Seward Highway just 20 miles south of Anchorage, Bird Creek Motel is a classic Alaskan roadside gem offering 10 cozy rooms (a mix of studios and two full apartments) perfect for anglers, road-trippers, and winter adventurers alike.
During the famous silver (coho) salmon runs in late summer and early fall, guests can simply stroll a few minutes down to the banks of Bird Creek to cast a line in one of Alaska’s most popular fishing spots. State Park trail head going back to Penguin Fall by hiking or with ATV Adventure Tours.
Only 10 miles north lies the mountain town of Girdwood and the four-season playground of Alyeska Resort, making the motel an ideal base for skiing, hiking the Winner Creek Trail, or riding the Alyeska tram. With its unbeatable location, no-frills comfort, and easy access to both saltwater and mountain adventures, Bird Creek Motel remains a favorite stop for those chasing the real Alaska experience.
